Creative Thankfulness (4)

4 Sep

Club Creative Studio continues to take part in the Gratitude Project 2012, by posting publicly for 90 days something that I am thankful for. On the days that I blog, I am posting about how something with the creativity theme touches my life in thankfulness.  Today is the 4th post that coincides with this blog.

It is with gratitude that I have had an opportunity to display and sell art in a new venue.  Last week, I prepared Club Creative Studio hand-made art to be included with other talented artist’s work within the Abington Art Center’s Gallery Gift Shop shelves.  Laura Burnham, Executive Director of Abington Art Center accepted work and will arrange a space for it to be available to the public for purchase.

One-of-a-kind, hand-made pendant from Club Creative Studio.

There are several reasons that warrant my excitement and thankfulness.  I am thrilled to be located in a new area where art and artists are appreciated by many.  I feel that this door has been opened to me so that others can readily see up close and personal what I do when I create Art That Sets You Apart. It is great to have many more local eyes fixed upon what I love to create.

Being part of an atmosphere that is a constant support for artists is a blessing.  It is motivating and inspiring to reach higher on a creative level.

Sweet Tweet Bird Theme

4 May

Close-up bird theme pendant from Club Creative Studio.

Club Creative Studio highlights a creative item offered through the online storefront website on Feature Fridays.  Today’s post is a new item line and it captures the details of the new Nest Necklaces. Nest Necklaces are fun hand-made, mixed media pendants.  The mini bird nest theme pendants range in size but, average to be about one and one half inches wide in diameter.

Created to celebrate Spring and capture the symbolic images of Spring- nests, bird eggs, new life, and birds.  With a bird theme, each pendant is made to be one-of-a-kind and feature a bird charm along with mixed media elements in metal, clay and or glass findings.

Club Creative Studio’s bird theme hand-made pendant necklace.

Each nest form is hand-twisted from coated color wire.  Added to the theme pendants are metal charm birds and a variety of hand-rolled clay or hand-torched glass beads.

The necklace pendants are especially appreciated by “bird-lovers”, “nature-lovers”, and anyone who likes unique wire worked jewelry.  The pendants are light-weight and colorful.  There are two styles of strands that are featured in this series.  Pendants are designed with either a coordinating multi-strand ribbon strand with an adjustable lobster clasp or a leather-like black cording that has an easy snap closure on the end.  Both type strands compliment the pendant and are very light-weight when worn.

Celebrate nature with bird theme hand-made jewelry art.

Enjoy the new theme collection and find them online from the Club Creative Studio website under the category: Mixed Metals, along with other Art That Sest You Apart!

Creative Everyday Challenge 2011

Creative Everyday Challenge 2011- Week 1

I recently found a site that has a few great running challenges for the creative type.  The link (s) are on the Club Creative Studio Blog.  Just look for the cute square logos at the bottom right side of the page. It is a challenge to do something creative everyday which is PERFECT for me since I already do this and it is my business mantra.

Since that is not really a challenge because I do have that “everyday” aspect under control, I am taking advantage of the creative prompts to use as suggestions in future work.  This yearly challenge will hopefully inspire me to think deeper in to certain aspects of my art.  It will be a great exercise.

Once I am ready to post any art that has stemmed from this specific challenge, I will post the item number of art found online on Club Creative Studio’s website.  You have the opportunity to purchase it or suggest it to others.  Thank you in advance for your views and comments about what you see or appreciate about the meaning behind the art.

Wrapping up the August challenge is use of the color RED.  Those items recently posted are easy to spot if you look online at any given time.  For this first week,  August 29-Sept. 04, the challenge is to interpret HISTORY into my art.  The item is complete and here are a few photos of the item code: W00044 from: http://www.clubcreativestudio.com. Enjoy art from week 1.

Week 1: CED Challenge 2011

The necklace has a strand of mini faux pearls and seed beads alternating in silver and copper tones, the second strand has multiple lime green glass square chips with yellow crackle glass round beads and silver tone spacer beads. The strand with the pendant attached is a mixture of painted acrylic orange beads with pink faux pearls flanking them.

The pendant is hand-made on a metal base and contains many symbolic items to coincide with the HISTORY CHALLENGE theme.
The ribbon rose and metal leaf stand for the flowers and trees that have many stages shown to us in a short amount of time.  The gears stand for elements of time and a ticking clock, the hearts remind us of love found and lost, the egg and bird symbolize life at different stages in time. The pearls show us that we have historically put value into a precious and rare small item.

Enjoy even more items in the ever-changing inventory. I love creating ans sharing ART THAT SETS YOU APART!

She Sells Sea Shells By Sea Shore…

10 Jun

It’s Feature Friday!

The special feature today will be a new addition to the online store category,in a limited series.

It’s a great way to capture summer through wearable, one-of-a-kind, handmade art.

3-D hand-made pendants

Club Creative Studio Art

Inspired by my beach walks along the Atlantic Ocean, I have incorporated the various treasures found along the shore line from those walks.

First finds are small sea shells (say that 3x fast), which are relatively easy to locate but, require a steady against the incoming waves.

I am happy to share this artisan creation referred to as a 3-D Bottle Cap Pendant.

Various hand-picked shells along with the lucky discoveries of tiny shark teeth are  highlighted natural findings that are included into many of the bottle cap pendants.

These one-of-a-kind and limited pendants are simple and unique.  And are perfect as an area souvenir or reminder of your love of any ocean.

In addition to shark teeth and shells a variety of other materials are used.  Scrap or odd beads, metal fragments, or even office supplies are added to a resin-filled bottle cap lid that dangles from a simple ball bead chain or non-distracting simple strand.

You can order your very own ocean keepsake neckwear items from the online store.  Please look under the 3-D category drop down section.  You will find they are priced very reasonably because I want to especially make this product affordable to young beach-goers and others who would like to enjoy a slice of Club Creative Art on a small-scale.  It’s a one-of-a-kind, artful  item that is lightweight and fun!

FEATURE FRIDAY

Feature Friday: 3-D Bezel Pendants

Club Creative Studio has a mantra that encourages creativity.  It’s  a welcome challenge to: Be Creative Everyday.  At times ideas come easily and at times, I have to hunt for them.  At any rate, I understand that inspiration abounds and I have learned to recognize and foster it, no matter the origin of the first spark.

I am always looking for new ways to incorporate my hand-made clay beads and hand- torched glass beads.  Jewelry is the main focus however, I create fun and functional beaded items as accessories, and in home decor as well.

As an artist, there are times that techniques don’t work out as planned and there are experiments that end in surprise.  Today’s Friday feature is a short story about a creative plan gone a rye and with time and patience, a new plan evolved creating a new artistic endeavor.

My initial idea for our 3-D  creations could be described as “flat beads”.  I formed layers of clay cane slices onto a square-shaped base.  I had planned to link the squares together to form a bracelet.  Each clay square base had added elements in design, layered color and texture.  Sections were embossed, stamped, painted, and inked in stages.

The problem came when the first creation did not turn out as planned.  I didn’t care for the manner of which the links combined and so I set them aside for a long while.  I knew I had to make some changes.  My expectations changed as I discovered a new use for the many square flat beads made, a full year later.  It took me that long to find the perfect project for the creations and I am glad that I was the patient artist.

Today:

I use my flat bead squares as foundation for multi-layered 3-D pendant bezel necklaces.

They are sometimes cut into a circular shape to accommodate the bezel used.  A simple wrapped cord is normally used as the strand and I simply adore making these pendants with various beads, and charms worked in to the design.  I hope that you  enjoy  wearing them as much as I enjoy making them.
