Club Creative Studio: Creative Clay Beads

9 Jul

Collection of Club Creative Studio hand-rolled clay beads.

Club Creative Studio creates hand-rolled, polymer clay beads that are one-of-a-kind.  Each bead is created from thirteen separate steps to complete each individual final item.  I also hand-slice the designs from canes or hand-rolled and layered logs created from the hand-conditioned clay.

Each bead basically consists of layers upon layers of clay and each section is applied by hand.

To make each bead even more unique, I limit the particular color and designs to no more than the count of fifteen beads total from the same cane.  Many designs are made in a lesser count and all are not created again in the same manner once they are made into a batch.

The penny coin shows the size comparison of these smaller beads.

Each batch is baked according to manufacturers recommendations and they are then decided upon if they will remain a non-gloss texture or require a hand-glossed and polished finish.

At first glance many think these beads are painted. They are not painted, the designs are created by layering clay.

I create beads from my hand-mixed colors that ensure that no one else will have the same color combinations, the colors are all unique and I experiment with matching and creating new tints from an endless supply of inspirational colors from nature, and man-made items like fabric and items that are around me.

I also just mix colors “by feel” whatever feels right to combine, I add a pinch here and there.  I don’t have formulas or measurements to create my color palates. I just “go for it”, and combine colors that feel and look pleasing.

I have unlimited possibilities of design when I work with polymer clay.

I hope you have enjoyed viewing a few photos of thenumerous batches of finished hand-made beads, I have created.  I enjoy taking photos of beads in this stage to show the steps taken from the start of a single bead in a collection used to incorporate into a finished art form.  Enjoy the different styles and designs- remembering that all were created in batches that include love…the love of bead-making, the love of variety and the love of creativity in creating beads from clay by hand.

I love to create colors that are reflective of nature, fashion-forward trends, traditional and inspired from custom requests.

Chunky and Funky

3 May

The chunky style.

I am feeling chunky today.  Not because I ate too much, it’s because of the great style choice known as fun chunky jewelry.

It is not often that someone would actually appreciate being associated with the term of being called “chunky”. It is a negative counteraction for the most part, and can have health risks associated with the term as well.  Sporting and enjoying a “chunky look” when wearing  jewelry however, is a fun term.  It’s a way to slim down your need for layering or wearing many other jewelry items at once.  This Thursday TNT (This-N-That) post brings attention to the lasting trend in jewelry fashion.  Do you enjoy chunky and funky jewelry fashion?

Club Creative Studio. Hand-made beads incorporated in a chunky style necklace design.

When you wear chunky jewelry, it speaks for itself.  It is known and appreciated as being statement jewelry.  The chunky look is bold and substantial.

I have often shared photos of Club Creative Studio art that fits well into the chunky style category.  I enjoy creating jewelry and offering items with personality.  A festive and funky chunky necklace or bracelet generally contains more beads in its creation, so the chunky look can be achieved.  Adding more beads gives the wearer a deeper appreciation a love of the variety and over-all collection of beads that combine to form one piece of art.

Chunky style jewelry does not necessarily have to be heavy in weight to wear because of the amount of beads it contains. Chunky yet light-weight beads can be made from clay, leucite, plastic, acrylic, shell and resins and still maintain their comfort associations while looking substantial.

Glass, ceramic and wood beads can sometimes add to the overall heaviness of a piece but can still be comfortable to wear.  The comfort you prefer when you chose to adorn a chunky neckline can be decided from the length and weight of the beads in your jewelry.

Although personal style sometimes will supersede how comfortable you really are, a statement piece does not need to weigh you down.  If you do not have many items that are chunky on their own you do have the option of wearing several necklaces or bracelets together at once.  This method is great to utilize your jewelry in different ways and mix up your won combinations.

No matter what your method is for obtaining the chunky look, when you add more jewelry instead of added calories to your body frame, you get noticed for favorable reasons for the most part.  Chunky jewelry does not add calories to your life-style and your figure, the last time I checked.  Enjoy having fun wearing chunky jewelry.

T is for Trend

23 Apr

Hand-made beads that offer a burst of color. Are these part of your trend color choices?

Club Creative Studio takes heed to passing and long-standing trends in color and jewelry fashions. Why? Because it is important to keep a pulse on what is popular and well liked for future customers. It also give a hint to me to know what challenge I have ahead in tweaking a trend to place my own original twist on a certain style.

How od I know what is hot and what is not? I do as you do most of the time…I look around.  Magazines, people on the streets, television and stores all give freely the information needed to know what people are finding eye-catching and pleasing.

As far as color trends go, besides looking to home furnishings, cultural traditions, markets and what is in my closet, there is a place that I research that has official hints from the runway.  It is called: Pantone fashion and color report.

Do you agree with their predictions?

Color Trends 2012

Inspirations From Designers:

Modern art such as Guyton Walker paintings, as well as world travel and primitive cultures have inspired designers.  Classic American sportswear with clean, sophisticated and modern looks will be popular. Dreams in black and white are inspirations for fashion because of the contrasts. Roses in their myriad of colors bring a romantic feel to spring. Unapologetically Warhol inspired abstract floral will be hot.  Also, a free and playful vibe is going to find its place in fashion. Mixing the love of hot neon colors with soft pastels, will be reminiscent of nature at its extremes. Can you picture a powerful sunset, the ocean sparkling at dusk with flashes of lightning in the distance?  The bold work of the abstract Expressionist painters that revolutionized the modern art world will have an influence on the designs and colors you will see. Mixing tribal ethnic references from different parts of the globe, from the desert to the tropics with a ’90s inspired utility/safari and sport feel will definitely bring in warmth, softness.  Faded colors will  get energized by cool, bright, vibrant hues when two shades are mixed together.

Prominent Colors:

Hot colors combined with hot colors and cool with cool: hibiscus with sunburn and cobalt with menthol will be seen. Formula one red, cyber yellow, Mariner’s navy and white are good combinations for 2012 fashions.  White will be important because it is pure, fresh and sophisticated and jet black for contrast.  A combination of feminine rose-hued colors such as sorbet orange, rose violet and hot red anchored by a color palette of optic white, vanilla ivory, true black and khaki stone will bring interest to the year. Bright hues of sunburst yellow, apricot and shocking pink, as well as sun-baked clay neutrals and soft shimmering golds will find its way into life.  Prints with buttery yellows, warm oranges, powdery blues and sea foam green will be noticed. Neon flamingo, shocking pink, acid lemon, electric blue, sea breeze, lilac,  a hint of purple and sand will be interesting to find in fashion and accessories. Look for that cool hint of purple, and acid yellow to be tempered with the softness of sea breeze and lilac. Pale navy, moon rock, canvas and stone blue adds to a soft palette that comes across as sleek and modern. Many rich with warm undertones like blossom pinks, pale orchids, tart yellows, aqua teal and peacock blues will hit the scene for Spring. Looking toward the garden notice colors of the flower called the Bachelor Button, vivid blue, lagoon, dandelion, lemonade, geranium and energetic cool colors like spearmint, strawberry, ocean and deep indigo.  Mix those colors with dusky, earthy, warm neutrals like terracotta, desert rose, vermillion, white sand, clay, pistachio, bark, hemp and sage.

Signature Colors:

Menthol, an old industrial color has reinvented itself as new and modern. Bright cyber yellow that is fun and commands your attention will be popular.  Bright white and lavender frost are fun for this season as well.  Combine colors like jet black to bright white and bright white to lavender frost. Rose violet and soft shimmering gold as well as strong bursts of color like apricot, sunburst yellow and spring green will be seen. White and sea foam as well as neon flamingo for its vibrancy paired with the  new neutral of purple will make life interesting.  A neon coral pops up in just the right spot throughout a fashionable collection and it’s one of my favorites for spring because of its youthful vibe. A warm shade of vermillion, as it is a color that mixes well with all the neutrals in the spring collections hints that they also look good on every skin tone, and creates a healthy sun-kissed glow.

Check out the jewelry art on the website to see if anything fits into your new spring color scheme. Club Creative Studio art is in tune with the color trends and fit your needs with a custom request if you e-mail me with details and specific wants and color schemes.

Bring Bling to Bold

22 Jan

Club Creative Studio’s art is one way to add color to the “gloom of winter”. Art can be created to help you bring a dash of bling into your bold color choices of fashion and home. Right now it is considered “hot” to add rich colors and bold patterns to your fashion, and even in your home accessories.

Artful finds from a market-theme storefront that offers a more global awareness/influence will make you realize that it is o.k. to go bold. You may appreciate the fabrics you are seeing more often that commonly resemble the batik or ikat patterns. Items that are made from or are made to look like the ancient fabric-dying techniques are bold and beautiful. You can consider even tribal patterns to be bold.

Thinking of Persian rugs or Mexican tiles gives you an idea that patterns found in such items can become a focal point of interest. Adding a pop of color adds a spice to life.

Wearing something in jewel-tones such as fuchsia, turquoise and citrus greens and yellows is an easy way to bring your wardrobe up to date and fresh. When choosing an element of colorful bling, you may want to consider choosing colors that either blend or compliment your look. By introducing a combination of “wow-colors” you set yourself apart as being a bit bold, and certainly…beautiful!

Within the new category GLAMOUR tab on the website: Club Creative Studio I have introduced art that is bold and somewhat “over-the-top”. Here you will find jewelry art that is fun, and fabulous.  Enjoy viewing items that are being add to the growing new section. They are certainly making statements!

Creative Snowflakes Fall Art Preview

9 Oct

Club Creative Studio’s blog continues to highlight art that is creative.  Of course, I can not write without including the “creative results” of my own efforts from time to time.  Today, I anticipate Winter although it is still Fall, and I wanted to share the creations with you in this special Fall Preview blog post.  I have found that my fun and functional snowflake ornaments are ready to be added to the online storefront after many months of creating them. I look forward to bringing them along to my Fall Craft Fairs.

You’ll find the Artisan Snowflake Ornaments available on a limited basis because they are each created to be

one-of-a-kind:  http://www.clubcreativestudio.com

Being an artist working with my hand-made clay and glass beads (most of the time), gives much satisfaction.  Love for my art niche is at the heart of my passion for my creative outlet and goals.  My daily mantra to: BE CREATIVE EVERYDAY offers me a continuous challenge to find ways to incorporate clay and glass beads into fun and functional hand-made items.

Each snowflake ornament includes several of my hand-rolled, one-of-a-kind, unique polymer clay beads and a variety of other hand-picked coordinating elements.  When I create my clay beads there are as many as thirteen steps involved from the starting point to finish.   This is indeed a labor of love to include hand-made aspects into items, this project is no exception.  The beads are then attached by hand to a wire frame and secured at the ends, resulting in a unique design that resembles a snowflake shape.

Club Creative Studio: Artisan Snowflake Ornaments

These Artisan Snowflake Ornaments have been created to function as art that hangs for display by means of the attached ribbon loop. Each item is not duplicated in any way, that is what makes them so special to own! It’s appeal is that it is VERY unique!

Consider perhaps these suggestions: Adorn a Christmas tree branch, place on a door knob, hang from a window pane hook or suction cup, dangle from a car rear view mirror, attach to a cabinet or dresser drawer knob. Wrap around a candle holder, flower vase or curtain swag.  Let your imagination take you places, and take this artful item with you for display.  You can appreciate this hand-made item all year-long. Snowflakes are not just to enjoy in winter any longer!

Thank you for viewing Club Creative Studio Art. It’s a pleasure to be creative everyday, creating Art That Sets You Apart!  Please visit often, as the inventory does change because all items are subject to availability. http://www.clubcreativestudio.com
