Lady In Red

Club Creative Studio. Samples in Red.

Club Creative Studio. Samples in Red.

Are you seeing red lately?  The color red?  Are you finding the desire to dress or wear accessories that are red in color? Would you notice a lady in red when you see one?

It seems that the color red is around us more during December and February.  You are probably seeing red hearts, roses, bows, candy wrappings, candy boxes, clothing and jewelry highlighting the color red now-a-days.

Club Creative Studio loves to create with the color red.

Club Creative Studio loves to create with the color red.

Does the color red invoke certain feelings for you? I recently asked Club Creative Studio Facebook friends this very question: What comes to mind when you see the color red?  Here are some of their responses in a word: power, passion. love, lipstick, hearts. blood, roses. I think that the color red is also fiery, hot and bright.  It awakens our imagination and stimulates our brain.  Have you heard of the “power tie”?  A power tie is a necktie that is red.  Red gives you strength and confidence.

Take a look at yourself the next time you are wearing the color red. Are you acting with extra spunk or attitude?  Are you happy and loving when you sport red?

You don’t need to be covered from head to toe to get a taste of red in your life. If it is not your normal color to wear try an accessory or small pop of color from a necklace, bracelet or earrings.

I do not have items “color-coded” on the website but, you will find red integrated into hand-made art within the Club Creative Studio online storefront found at http://www.clubcreativestudio.com  I welcome you to browse and see if something catches your eye there.  Maybe it will be something created in the color red, maybe in an unexpected color combination. Happy Shopping!

The Ayes Have It

2 Jan

Do you like bright colors? The ayes and EYES have it.  Like it or not color is exploding with popularity in eye shadow shades and elsewhere.  Do you have a “go-to” palette that you rely on? Have you noticed the new fashion trends in make-up, nail polish color and fashion in general?  Club Creative Studio has seen a recent change to neon and bright colors from common fashion looks in nail polish to eye shadows.  Although there are signs of more subtle shades, take a look at some of the common painted lids.  What do you think of them?

Ready or willing to add some bling to your eye area?

Consider the color wheel when picking out shades of eye shadows. Cool or warm colors can look very dramatic.

Glitter makes this look glam.

It’s a new trend to apply rub-on temporary tatto-like, shadows onto your eye-lid areas.

Of course, I have highlighted some extreme looks here but, it is an exciting color trend for 2013.  It’s a growing love for color upon eye lids. A commercial I recently saw describes their color line as Color Tattoos, meaning that the colors are bright and long-lasting. I think it takes a certain type person and style to pull off the heavier colored eye lids. It is not me but, I love the dramatic look. It may also be a matter of applying with confidence and practice that makes the look appealing. What do you think?  Willing to try out a new color trend for the sake of fashion? What is your stand-by color of choice when it comes to eye shadow tints?

I love when color becomes a main focus and becomes influential in our lives. The challenge for me, as a bead and jewelry designer is to use that information from a popular trend and experiment with similar color combos in my clay and glass art.  I want to reflect what the trends are but, I don’t live and breathe them. Sometimes the transfer appeal works and creations are noticed more quickly, simply because of the color in the item design.  Other times, color has no apparent barring on our creation popularity and it comes down to personal choice of customers.  A person is drawn to Club Creative Studio Art because of taste in style or design, appreciation for creativity and unique factors and the fun and functional staying power of a well made one-of-a-kind item.  Whatever the main reason is for a second glance of Club Creative Studio Art, I am happy to offer items that are pleasing to the eye! The ayes do have it!

Blue Christmas- Inspired By Elvis

21 Dec

Club Creative Studio is sharing theme art in this Feature Friday post today that has been inspired by music on the radio.  It’s that time of year that the sounds of Christmas fill our airways.  Appreciating Christmas carols are part of our traditions, and one has inspired me to create a few statement pieces of hand-made jewelry art in the color blue.

Club Cretive Studio Art. Hand-made pendant.

Club Cretive Studio Art. Hand-made pendant.

The necklace above is made of various mixed metals, faux pearls, glass beads, shell buttons and dyed shell beads, a tea pot charm and a blue and black clay bead from polymer clay.

Lately the tune Blue Christmas sung my Elvis Presley has been heard quite often. So, I decided to create from the title of the song.  I don’t seem to createhand-made items in the color blue very often. I don’t know why. I have nothing against blue. I like blue. So, to concentrate on one specific color, and create item after item in the blue theme, was a welcome challenge and change of pace. How does the color blue make you feel? Does it make you feel down or lift your spirits with a calm feeling?

Using music as inspiration is easy because you can listen to words over and over and take to heart what is being conveyed to you. Any given day may render a new meaning while listening to the same words of a tune so use that as inspiration as well.

Theme jewelry-making can be a challenge to create because you may feel like you are limited in creativity however, it can also be a welcome task because you are placed in a position that you need to stick to in terms of a certain style, mood, or color.

Decoding Color

18 Dec

Taking note in preparation of the color trends predicted from Patone List.

Taking note in preparation of the color trends predicted from Pantone List.

Welcome to Club Creative Studio’s blog. If you have not been informed and are not in tune with the color trend that is just around the corner in 2013, this post is for your information.

Popular 2013 color trends are incorporated in expressive hand-made art from Club Creative Studio.

Women’s palette: What’s the color code assigned to 2013?

It has already been predicted. This season designers and other creative people have taken note of consumers and their desires to be awaken by color.  Green is going to be the popular go-to color trend that we will express energy and nature. There are going to be interesting complimentary color combinations assigned to the color green as well. Looking toward the color wheel you an expect to see orange and green combine and that my friends, is one example of an exciting color combo!

Many shades of GREEN will be the hot trend to wear in 2013.

Many shades of GREEN will be the hot trend to wear in 2013. Do you have anything in emerald-green?

Along with the green hues, you can expect to see a variety of green. Vibrant yellow greens, subtle jade tones, greens with grey undertones. Gem-stone emerald-green and all nature inspired green tones will adorn clothing, make-up, jewelry accessories, fabrics, interior designs/home decor and more.

There are also great colors combinations that will introduce themselves as statement colors such as the colors deep violet, bright poppy red, nectarine/citrus, and refreshing lemon tones.

For evenings, the highlighted colors are dusty blues, and warm neutrals.

Looking forward to the predicted color trends of 2013.

Do you have items ready to fill the bill of the color green explosion?  Have you thought about how you can combine the bright statement colors that will also be popular?  If you are not sure about how some of these colors look together, be brave and try the different color combinations, I know I will in my future art creations.

Happily, I am ahead of the curve in creating some items that already have these combinations incorporated.  To view and purchase jewelry art that is fashionable and on-trend, as well as hand-made, please browse the Club Creative Studio website. You will certainly view Art That Sets You Apart.

Gotta Love It: Orange

Gotta Love it: The Color Orange

I appreciate the color orange.

Today, I am thankful for the color orange, and the fruit.

Although a single orange now-a-days may cost a few more coins than two cents to actually purchase, here are thoughts on the color orange worth more than two cents.  Enjoy this Two-Cent Tuesday Post, that has a focus on the color orange.

What feelings are brought to the surface when you see the color orange?  Maybe you think of a sunset, a sport team or the fruit? I think of summer and the sweet smell of orange juice as well as autumn and the changing leaf colors when I think of the color orange.  It is said that people who like the color orange are usually thoughtful and sincere. Does that fit your personality?

Club Creative Studio Art Acrylic and mixed media textured painting.

Orange seems to evoke a sense of warmth and power. It is said to be one of the “healing” colors. Have you ever heard that if a change of any kind is need in life, just burn an orange candle for 7 nights? I’ll have to try that one.

Is it also true that the color orange increases food cravings? Knowing this association, I may try to avoid using an orange plate!  Orange is also given credit for stimulation of enthusiasm and creativity. Orange means vitality.  This color is said to be great for personal power, self esteem, mental quickness and adaptability to change.  Is this because the color can just “jump out” to you?  You can decide that property and effect it has on you.

Put some orange color into your life when you need:

  • to spice things up when time seems to drag
  • to enhance your curiosity
  • to become more focused
  • to increase creativity
  • relief from bland situations

I love orange and the vibrant leaf colors that include orange. I took this photo in the mountains of Western Carolina.

It  was also inspirational when I painted using acrylics and alcohol inks on this canvas.

The color orange has also been included in my jewelry designs. Here are a few items I created that highlight the color orange.  Maybe orange is pleasing to you as well?

I’m Making Room for Improvements

18 Sep

Club Creative Studio is in the process of making a few changes that will surely translate into many favorable results.  Pardon this interruption from the typical blog post and continued series posts about creativity. I am posting a special feature post to announce my excitement.  And yes, it does have to also do with CREATIVITY.

In the past it has sometimes been hard to convey the details and beauty of our creations from a mere photograph.  Often times I would hear at a craft fair that Club Creative Studio jewelry is so cool up close and personal compared to seeing it in photos.  While it is true that there is nothing like actually seeing something with your own eyes and holding a creation in your own hands, I should always strive to show you what makes our art so unique.

New lighting system for taking photos of Club Creative Studio Art.

I have taken many notes over time in hopes to learn more and present art in better ways to you. It is clear that I want you to be able to see in detail what makes our creations so wonderful and pleasing to own.  With that being said, I have invested in a new lighting system that so far has excited me very much.  If you will notice, I am taking great care in presenting art with better photography.  This is exciting because you can’t always be at an Art Fair that I am at, and you want to see art just like those walking in front of my booth space.

BEFORE LIGHTING PHOTOGRAPH:

While this photograph was “o.k.” I think the AFTER PHOTO is much better!

AFTER LIGHTING PHOTOGRAPH:

I am thrilled to be able to capture the sparkle and depth of this necklace.

Please share your thoughts on the improvements.

It is my hope to bring you information that will better serve you and represent our creations in a true light to show-case their magnificent qualities the best way possible.

The online store will progressively display better photographs. If you would like to request that a particular item be re-photographed, all you have to do is contact me via e-mail with the product name and item number. Thank you for wearing and sharing Club Creative Studio Art!

Diedra’s Different Outlook- Part ll

18 Sep

The color of love.

Club Creative Studio introduced you to my neighbor, Diedra in yesterday’s post.  Today I am thankful for having pride in knowing my creative-out-of-the-box-thinking neighbor. Who would not want to know more about how a creative person thinks?  Fitting for the Two-Cent Tuesday theme, I want to show you how the love of one color can have a cost-effective impact. Diedra’s favorite color in her own words is: “The color Peacock”.  It is actually the love of the color turqoise that has her racing to her paint and brush very often.  This interest in painting almost any thing and every thing has also expressed a sense of creative frugality.

Pursuaded by paint of a peacock-color, the rugs, pillows, furniture, and floor reflect that favorite hue.

It isn’t everyday that you can go out into the world and purchase turquoise painted furniture, a statue, flooring, a mailbox or  lawn ornaments.  This is a low-cost way to get that into your world by simply and inexpensively painting an item the way that you want it to look , yourself.  And why not? If you want to love something even more, find a way to make it attractive to you.  Diedra loves “peacock” so she paints many items with that color to reflect what attracts her taste.  You’ll see plenty of turquoise, purple and blue here. Nuff said.

At night- purple lights are scattered here and there in her garden areas.

You are free to consider this decorating style “quirky” but, it is certainly also “cohesive”.

Plenty of turquoise, purple and blue hues here.

Lending to the expressions of the colors purple, blue and turquoise is the personality and spunk of Diedra herself.

Meet Diedra, even her turquoise car has a creative touch.

When asked about the reasoning behind the attached flowers on her automobile roof and back window she responded with her logic. “I go out in the car and park in the parking lots and when I come out of stores I always think that someone has stolen my car because it seems to be parked in between the big SUVs and I can not see it quickly.  So, I put the flowers on top so I could spot it faster. Plus being short, I can see it better over the bigger cars.” Sounds good to me! She went on to add, “I used to change the flowers with the seasons and holidays but, that got to be a bit much.”

Visit the blog again for the continued multi-post series

sharing more of Diedra’s featured creative whims.

Creative Thankfulness (5)

Club Creative Studio Art and bold suede cord strands.

Today, Club Creative Studio stops to be thankful for three words and the implications it brings to the fashion world. Choice, chance and change.

Choices

It is great news to know that hand-made art can be both unique and affordable. You are able to realize that when you wear something created from Club Creative Studio, you are the only one in the entire world that owns it.  When you wear something hand-made and one-of-a-kind, you express yourself as being an individual and special.  We are happy to offer a variety of choices online and take pride in knowing that nothing is ever made in duplicate.  The choice is yours to be different and supportive of the arts and art created by hand. Make a choice to express yourself creatively.

Chances

Chances are you will notice that suede is going to be popular in shoes and maybe elsewhere. I have created several simple necklaces that have colored suede cords as the strands so that is right on target for the Fall fashion season already.  The color cobalt blue is said to be popular as well as glitter and sparkle (yeah).  While you will still see and enjoy tone-on-tone items, statement pieces and men’s wear inspired looks will spill into women’s accessories.  How will you take a chance in your Fall fashion statements?  Dare to be different! Take a chance, show your creative side.

This Fall season: you’ll notice tassels, Oxford flat shoes, leopard and wing-tipped shoes, and colored toe caps, the chunky look and to me the most exciting: patterns and bold colors!

Bright colors are great for summer and fall if combined with other accessories that can compliment the boldness.

Changes

What changes will you be inspired to make?  Will you embrace the glitter and sequins trend?  Will you explore and appreciate the colors and patterns in new items?  As far as making beads that relate to the new trends, I am pleased and excited to see more contrasting colors and floral and geometric graphics around us. I look forward to coordinating Art That Sets You Apart with fashion-forward movements. Make a change from being ordinary to extraordinary, strut your creative stuff!

image:wowshoes580warcraftshoes

You might notice how things I look at can inspire bead-making for me. Do you see any similar qualities in the shoes above and the rectangle bamboo beads pictured here? Like changing your shoes, adding bright and bold colors to your wardrobe could be the jumpstart you need to meet and greet the new trend.  I remain thankful that our items lend well to standing out and offering unique and varied choices of art.

Color and texture combine for an interesting look for Fall.

Have fun as you attempt to use your creativity and make choices, take a chance, and allow the changes to be an extended expression of your style.  I’d love to help by suggesting that Club Creative Studio creations are as unique as you are.  Club Creative Studio Art found at http://www.clubcreativestudio.com offers you a wide choice of hand-made creations, gives you the chance to visit over and over again and purchase online at your convience, as well as shares in the excitement that our art can change your appearance in an affordable manner through its hand-crafted artistic designs.

Creative on Contact (Part ll)

17 Aug

Let’s continue with the endless topic of CREATIVITY!  On July 12,2012, the post was about a low-cost creative project. That project was made by my daughter to use in her dorm room to decorate and place her personal touch into her living space.  Be sure to check back to that blog date to review the steps and process that brought this colorful element into existence.

This long sheet will be cut into sections to apply to a wall in a custom-fitted manner.

Today, I share the results of the installation.  This art was easily placed upon the blank wall and was also easily adjustable to smooth out the air bubbles. The contact paper was installed by two persons. One person held the end at the starting point on the wall surface.  The second person stripped the backing paper to reveal the sticky portion of the contact paper and held the bottom of the roll.  The second person also slowly unrolled the paper as the first person used their hand to smooth out air bubbles.  We also used a yard stick for further smoothing.

The wall color background was painted white and was also free from scratches, dents, or dirt.  This wall color allowed the bright marker colors to really pop.  The area that an entire roll of decorated contact paper will cover will depend on the size of the wall you wish to cover, and the amount you over-lap at the edges. We over-lapped the edges slightly for wear and tear and a more secure hold.

Contact Paper Art

Using bright-colored markers will make your wall art “pop”.

Adjacent to this art is a large mirror. This can be enjoyed from a reflection as well as by standing directly in front of the art.

What do you think? Willing to try this yourself?  What do you like most about this project?

Sunny Side Up

Today’s Club Creative Studio Feature Friday post celebrates the color YELLOW

How wonderful yellow is. It stands for the sun. -Vincent Van Gogh

Yellow flowers help complete my table arrangement with the Club Creative Studio Keepsake Rim Trim beaded vase embellishment.

Do you want to grab a little attention?  Wear a piece of jewelry that is an eye-attracting yellow color, or an item with yellow accents.

Club Creative Studio hand-made necklace.

That may do the trick since yellow is considered the most visible color, it is also the most attention-getting color. Yellow can be used in small amount to draw notice, such as on traffic sign or advertisements.

Yellow is a great color to highlight.

In this Club Creative Studio Hand-made clay beads. Notice that “pop” of yellow really stands out!

While that same wonderful sunny yellow color stands out and makes you feel happy and warm, yellow also often tends to be the most fatiguing to the eye.  This is said to be reasoned out due to the high amount of light that is reflected.   So, in today’s extreme use on computer monitors, the background color yellow can lead to extreme eyestrain.

One thing is for sure, when you wear a Club Creative Studio art items heads will turn no matter what color is highlighted in the design, and that won’t be because of eye strain!

Club Creative Studio- Sunny yellow hand-rolled polymer clay beads.

The studied flip-side of the psychological effects of happy yellow are frustration and anger, however.  It seems that studies have been done to also prove that people are more likely to lose their tempers in yellow rooms and babies tend to cry more in yellow rooms.  This goes to show even for colors everything in MODERATION should keep us all at an even keel.  For me yellow has always brought to mind a sunny side up egg.  It is a pleasing color that also makes me have a hankering for eggs!

Speaking of balance, yellow can also increase the metabolism. So, let’s keep a healthy dose of yellow in our wardrobes.  How does yellow make YOU feel?
