Sweet Tweet Bird Theme

4 May

Close-up bird theme pendant from Club Creative Studio.

Club Creative Studio highlights a creative item offered through the online storefront website on Feature Fridays.  Today’s post is a new item line and it captures the details of the new Nest Necklaces. Nest Necklaces are fun hand-made, mixed media pendants.  The mini bird nest theme pendants range in size but, average to be about one and one half inches wide in diameter.

Created to celebrate Spring and capture the symbolic images of Spring- nests, bird eggs, new life, and birds.  With a bird theme, each pendant is made to be one-of-a-kind and feature a bird charm along with mixed media elements in metal, clay and or glass findings.

Each nest form is hand-twisted from coated color wire.  Added to the theme pendants are metal charm birds and a variety of hand-rolled clay or hand-torched glass beads.

The necklace pendants are especially appreciated by “bird-lovers”, “nature-lovers”, and anyone who likes unique wire worked jewelry.  The pendants are light-weight and colorful.  There are two styles of strands that are featured in this series.  Pendants are designed with either a coordinating multi-strand ribbon strand with an adjustable lobster clasp or a leather-like black cording that has an easy snap closure on the end.  Both type strands compliment the pendant and are very light-weight when worn.

Celebrate nature with bird theme hand-made jewelry art.

Clay Penants Born From Rain and Wind

4 Sep

I take advantage of a creative spark whenever possible.  It is important to be CREATIVE EVERYDAY!

Hand-made clay pendant

I encourage you to ignite the passion for your creativity by looking around for inspirations. This blog post is about how I used my time in an unfortunate situation to be inspired to do something productive.

I recently experienced several days which I was able to combine my love with clay with other outside factors, literally.  While the weather outside was hurricane status with wind and rains, I used the time stuck indoors to put my creativity to work.  Having a business that allows you to work from home and at any hour you please can be a great benefit.

If you know the ramifications of a violent storm then you know that you are prone to the loss of electricity.  When dealing with any weather condition you may have to adjust your work to be able to safely and efficiently do your job well.  During the past hurricane named Irene, my household suffered through several days without electricity.  The usual elements are needed to be prepared for such an event like enough water, food, radio, batteries, etc. to ride out the storm.  For me, it is also important to add CLAY to the list of survival items needed to be happy and comfortable during impending weather conditions.  It gives me something to do to occupy time.

Being prepared with a supply of clay meant that I was able to keep busy, pass time, and dedicate intense focus to the clay creations.  The best part about it was that during the natural day-light hours, I was able to be quite productive.  Enjoy the creations that I have grouped into a series that I call “Mean Irene” pendants.  All of these initial designs were created during the storm days. They are sculptural clay elements using polymer clay.  With some pendants, I have used a resin-type coating to enhance the 3-D effects, and additional beads for detail.  The pendants have a silver tone polished metal base in various shapes like squares, circles, rectangles, ovals or triangles.  Each item is one-of-a-kind.   Most designs are available with a simple black cord that has a snap closure.

IT’S FEATURE FRIDAY!

Nest Necklace Set donated To Onslow Care Givers 2010

Club Creative Studio’s Friday posts feature hand-made art from its collection of one-of-a-kind items.

Club Creative Studio's Hand-Torched Glass Beads.

Today’s post features a few hand-torched Italian glass beads used as a focal point in special nature inspired pendants.

Today, I share a few creations that remind me of the bird nest recently discovered within my hanging fern plant on the porch of my home.

Bird nest in my porch plant.

Isn’t it beautiful?

A sign that nature can be kind and gentle.

A reminder that birds are a gift to us in sight and sound.

A thought of wonderment as we observe how complex a nest really is.

Awe at the idea of realizing the amount of care that goes into the hatching of the eggs and a sweet reminder of how fragile life is in any form.

I’m appreciative of these aspects when looking at this nest built from a plum finch who thought my fern be to be the best home for its eggs.

Hand-Torched Italian Glass- Design by: Club Creative Studio

When I found this particular pendant, I liked it for many reasons.  It was a different elongated pendant not similar to one that dangles and it was the nature theme that inspired me to place something of importance within the focal point area.  The empty nest of the pendant only gave me free rein to add one of my hand-torched glass beads within the space.  So, that is what I did…and on several occasions.

Real bird eggs, like those  in the photo above, are each individually unique.  Each egg, inside and out are special creations of nature. Just like those bird eggs in comparison, Club Creative Studio art is also a one-of-a-kind work of art.
