Stop Run-Away Beads

19 Jul

This is a bead stopping component.

Club Creative Studio’s TNT (This-N-That) post today is about a creative solution in bead making.

If you are into stringing, you know that there is nothing worse than spending time with a hand-made item and then experience some degree of failure.  When you are involved with the technique of stringing beads, you want the task to be enjoyable and successful.  You would even like it to be a bit relaxing or therapeutic.

Stringing beads is a rhythm and a pattern.  To avoid  a break in that process, any mishaps like a sudden loss of a completed string of beads falling to the ground is heart-breaking.  I have found the ideal product that can be used to assure that a string of beads will no longer be unstrung if it is left in an undeveloped state of progress.

My small collection of a useful stringing tool.

The interesting stainless steel coiled clips are small items that have a strong hold onto the ends of stringing thread or wire.  Some companies call them “Bead Stoppers” and that is a good name to describe what they do.  They stop beads.  To use, you gently squeeze both ends to open, and place your strand in-between two of the coils and release ends.  The grip allows for the beads to be held until you squeeze the ends once more.

Attaching and end of a beaded strand secures the beads from an accidental spill.

This is used by bead artists who are mid-stream in a project, have many different projects going at once, or want to bundle their beads to a stopping point for storage.  I often use these supportive ends to work from one end to the middle, and then adjust the strand to center the design, and string the other end to match.

These bead stopper coils have easy grip ends.

If you have had frustrations in beading strands and do not like dropping it and starting over, then this is something that you can use to give you back some productive time.  They come in several sizes and you can either use two per strand, placing one strand in an area or use one clip, and separate the coils, and hold one single necklace end to end.

Happy creating and let me know if you use these when stringing or if you are now considering trying them.  I used to use other methods like larger clips or tape but, there is a difference using something that is made specifically for bead-makers, they the (inventors) were really onto something when they created this simple tool for us. It solves a big problem.

Creative Snowflakes Fall Art Preview

9 Oct Club Creative Studio: Artisan Snowflake Ornaments

Club Creative Studio’s blog continues to highlight art that is creative.  Of course, I can not write without including the “creative results” of my own efforts from time to time.  Today, I anticipate Winter although it is still Fall, and I wanted to share the creations with you in this special Fall Preview blog post.  I have found that my fun and functional snowflake ornaments are ready to be added to the online storefront after many months of creating them. I look forward to bringing them along to my Fall Craft Fairs.

You’ll find the Artisan Snowflake Ornaments available on a limited basis because they are each created to be

one-of-a-kind:  http://www.clubcreativestudio.com

Being an artist working with my hand-made clay and glass beads (most of the time), gives much satisfaction.  Love for my art niche is at the heart of my passion for my creative outlet and goals.  My daily mantra to: BE CREATIVE EVERYDAY offers me a continuous challenge to find ways to incorporate clay and glass beads into fun and functional hand-made items.

Each snowflake ornament includes several of my hand-rolled, one-of-a-kind, unique polymer clay beads and a variety of other hand-picked coordinating elements.  When I create my clay beads there are as many as thirteen steps involved from the starting point to finish.   This is indeed a labor of love to include hand-made aspects into items, this project is no exception.  The beads are then attached by hand to a wire frame and secured at the ends, resulting in a unique design that resembles a snowflake shape.

Club Creative Studio: Artisan Snowflake Ornaments

These Artisan Snowflake Ornaments have been created to function as art that hangs for display by means of the attached ribbon loop. Each item is not duplicated in any way, that is what makes them so special to own! It’s appeal is that it is VERY unique!

Consider perhaps these suggestions: Adorn a Christmas tree branch, place on a door knob, hang from a window pane hook or suction cup, dangle from a car rear view mirror, attach to a cabinet or dresser drawer knob. Wrap around a candle holder, flower vase or curtain swag.  Let your imagination take you places, and take this artful item with you for display.  You can appreciate this hand-made item all year-long. Snowflakes are not just to enjoy in winter any longer!

Thank you for viewing Club Creative Studio Art. It’s a pleasure to be creative everyday, creating Art That Sets You Apart!  Please visit often, as the inventory does change because all items are subject to availability. http://www.clubcreativestudio.com

Creative Everyday Challenge 2011

Creative Everyday Challenge 2011- Week 1

I recently found a site that has a few great running challenges for the creative type.  The link (s) are on the Club Creative Studio Blog.  Just look for the cute square logos at the bottom right side of the page. It is a challenge to do something creative everyday which is PERFECT for me since I already do this and it is my business mantra.

Since that is not really a challenge because I do have that “everyday” aspect under control, I am taking advantage of the creative prompts to use as suggestions in future work.  This yearly challenge will hopefully inspire me to think deeper in to certain aspects of my art.  It will be a great exercise.

Once I am ready to post any art that has stemmed from this specific challenge, I will post the item number of art found online on Club Creative Studio’s website.  You have the opportunity to purchase it or suggest it to others.  Thank you in advance for your views and comments about what you see or appreciate about the meaning behind the art.

Wrapping up the August challenge is use of the color RED.  Those items recently posted are easy to spot if you look online at any given time.  For this first week,  August 29-Sept. 04, the challenge is to interpret HISTORY into my art.  The item is complete and here are a few photos of the item code: W00044 from: http://www.clubcreativestudio.com. Enjoy art from week 1.

Week 1: CED Challenge 2011

The necklace has a strand of mini faux pearls and seed beads alternating in silver and copper tones, the second strand has multiple lime green glass square chips with yellow crackle glass round beads and silver tone spacer beads. The strand with the pendant attached is a mixture of painted acrylic orange beads with pink faux pearls flanking them.

The pendant is hand-made on a metal base and contains many symbolic items to coincide with the HISTORY CHALLENGE theme.
The ribbon rose and metal leaf stand for the flowers and trees that have many stages shown to us in a short amount of time.  The gears stand for elements of time and a ticking clock, the hearts remind us of love found and lost, the egg and bird symbolize life at different stages in time. The pearls show us that we have historically put value into a precious and rare small item.

Enjoy even more items in the ever-changing inventory. I love creating ans sharing ART THAT SETS YOU APART!
